Real Madrid concluded their 2024–25 LaLiga season with a heartfelt 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabéu, marking the end of an era for several club legends. While Kylian Mbappé's brace secured the win, the evening was defined by emotional farewells to Luka Modrić, Carlo Ancelotti, and Lucas Vázquez.

In a game where Real Madrid had already conceded the league title to Barcelona, the focus shifted to honoring departing icons. Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in the 38th minute, capitalizing on a rebound after his initial penalty attempt was saved. He added a second goal in the 74th minute, bringing his LaLiga tally to 30 goals and becoming only the fourth debutant in league history to reach this milestone .

Real Sociedad, despite some promising moments, couldn't find the back of the net. The match also marked the end of Imanol Alguacil's seven-year tenure as their manager, during which he led the team to a Copa del Rey victory and multiple European qualifications .


 Farewell to Legends: Modrić, Ancelotti, and Vázquez

The evening was particularly poignant as fans bid adieu to Luka Modrić, who, after 13 years with the club, played his final match at the Bernabéu. Substituted in the 87th minute, Modrić received a standing ovation and a guard of honor from his teammates. In his farewell speech, he expressed gratitude to the club, his teammates, and the fans, stating, "The greatest trophy is the love of the fans" .

Manager Carlo Ancelotti also took his final bow, set to assume the role of Brazil's national team coach. Lucas Vázquez, another long-serving player, was honored as he left the pitch, marking the end of his significant contribution to the club .
